The Seated Calf Raise loads the calf with the knee bent, which is the point of it. A standing raise works the gastrocnemius; bending the knee takes that muscle out of the movement and puts the work on the soleus underneath it — the muscle that does most of the job in distance running, repeated jumps and anything spent on the balls of the feet.

It is plate loaded and free standing. Nothing bolts to the floor, so it can be moved as a layout changes, and resistance comes off the plates you already own rather than a stack you have to buy with the frame.

The footplate sits at 10 degrees with a checkered face, so the heel drops below the toe at the bottom and the calf is loaded through a full stretch instead of a short push. The thigh pad adjusts to set that depth for the athlete rather than the machine.

The lever starts at 77 lb (35 kg) before any plates go on, and each pin takes 9.1" (230 mm) of plate.

Shipping & Lead Time

Ships as freight on a pallet. At 209 lb (95 kg) this is over the limit any courier will carry, so ground-level or loading dock access is required. The frame is free standing and needs no floor fixing once in place.
